In the second quarter of 2022, the top five navigation and maps apps in Europe showed varying trends in weekly downloads, active users, and revenue, according to Sensor Tower data.
Google Maps experienced a steady increase in weekly downloads, starting from approximately 740K at the end of March and peaking at around 1.03M in mid-April. Active users also saw a consistent rise, growing from 70.4M to 78M by the end of June.
Waze Navigation & Live Traffic saw its weekly downloads fluctuate, beginning at about 272K and reaching a high of nearly 391K in mid-April. Active users increased from 15M to 17.7M over the quarter, indicating a growing user base.
Google Earth had a relatively stable trend in weekly downloads, starting at 309K and slightly decreasing to around 209K by the end of June. Active users remained fairly constant, with minor fluctuations, ending the quarter at approximately 1.88M.
Yandex Maps & Navigator showed a consistent increase in weekly downloads, beginning at 194K and rising to about 267K by the end of June. Weekly revenue peaked at $7.5K in early May, and active users grew from 9.9M to 11.4M over the quarter.
Yandex Navi – navigation, maps also saw an upward trend in weekly downloads, starting at 173K and reaching around 206K by the end of June. Weekly revenue showed a peak of $21K in early May, and active users increased from 5.2M to 6.46M during the quarter.
